Welcome to the MyofascialResource.com Home Page

MyofascialResource.co
m is here for the thousands of
Myofascial Release (MFR) and other related therapists around
the country and beyond. Up until now, Myofascial Release
support and information came from individual websites or chat
lines, each one dedicated to only one of the many styles of
Myofascial Release.
MyofascialResource.com bridges that
gap, allowing therapists a place to find resources as well as a
highly effective and cost effective means of advertising. Whether
Rolfing, Structural Integration, CranioSacral Therapy, Myofascial
Release, or other, the many different forms of Myofascial Release
have much to offer. They can come together here, on
MyofascialResource.com.

Having spent so many years as a Myofascial Release therapist
and instructor, I've been able to adapt many of the techniques
that I've learned, as well as develop more than a few of my own. I
now have the opportunity to share what I've learned with others.
In the "Tips" section, you'll find a sample of treatment and
self-treatment techniques. Additional techniques and home
program stretches are available by subscribing to my monthly
MFRmail Newsletter (see below). Feedback from the issues
thus far are fantastic, with many therapists immediately
integrating the information into their practices. Subscribing is
easy and costs nothing. Scroll down for information on how to
sign up. Home program Tips are supplied in PDF format, to allow
you to easily print them out on your own letterhead. All back
issues of the MFRmail Newsletter and the related Treatment Tips
can be found on the Newsletter Archives page.

MyofascialResource.com also creates a central location for
many of the treatment tools that myself and other therapists
around the country utilize to enhance their practice as well as
their patient's progress. I've also compiled a large number of
books and music that are pertinent to your practice. Please,
utilize the available links to check out a tool, book or music that
you might be interested in. Clicking on the links does not obligate
you to buy, so feel free to look around.
Are you looking for the latest word on new research, treatment tips, articles, treatment
tools, books, and music? Sign up for my free

newsletter filled with useful information for your practice. If you're not happy, you can

Check out www.bodyworkonline.com to connect with a larger community of MFR
practitioners, as well as a wide range of body workers. No hidden agenda, as demonstrated by
other MFR sites.

There are numerous Treatment Tools available, many of which are shown at the
MyofascialResource.com Store. Many MFR therapists choose to purchase treatment tools in
bulk and re-sell the items to clients. When available, bulk pricing is noted. Other therapists do
not wish to be bothered with keeping an inventory of stock and would prefer to be able send
their patients to one central source for needed home treatment supplies. Others wish to
remain separate from any ethical dilemmas associated with selling products directly to
patients. Sending your patients directly to
MyofascialResource.com allows them to
quickly and easily find the products you wish them to use as a part of their therapy.
Additionally, they can make a connection with the larger community of MFR themselves,
through the many books and music CD's.

My goal is to make
MyofascialResource.com a vital tool for our entire MFR community.
Let me know if you have any favorite tools, books, or CDs that are not listed here, and we can
share them with others.

Finally, the Myofascial Release Practitioner Directory features Myofascial Release therapists
from around the United States and Canada, located in one central location to make attracting
clients easier. Your listing allows you to highlight your practice or facility. Potential clients will
be able to find you from all of the major search engines.  Give it a try; I think you will be
pleased!

Another website to consider is SomaSimple. While the members there are not exactly in the
same mindset as most Myofascial Release therapists, disagreement and discussion can be
educational. Explore neurobiological rationales for bodywork here. There is a rather
monumental thread called "Myofascial Release; The Great Conversation". Check it out!

Here is an editorial that I wrote in my February 2009 MFRmail Newsletter

"Real" Myofascial Release?

When I was learning MFR, I heard a great deal about what was "real" MFR and what was
not. What was "real" seemed to depend on who was teaching it, as each teacher felt that
what they taught was the only genuine way to perform the work. The way I was taught,
that particular method was only effective if done as taught. Period. All other ways were
less effective. Today, I have the benefit of time and space away from the manner and
teaching from which I learned. This all seems rather foolish. Effective work is just that;
effective work. There are many modalities that have profound effects, as there are
different ways in which one performs MFR.

Why am I making this statement? It seems that ever since I left the MFR community
from which I both learned and instructed, I have been accused of teaching and practicing
a different form of MFR; that I am taking it in another direction. Maybe I am. There have
been criticisms regarding the home treatment stretches and releases that I have shared
with you on my Myofascial Release Treatment Tips. The claim is that they are not "real"
Myofascial Release". I leave that up to you to decide. My clients have benefited greatly
from these and, based on the feedback I've gotten over the past few years, so have many
of you. Claiming that only one form of MFR is real or is the best is certainly one way to
keep people loyal. You decide for yourself.

TimeCenter.com, an online scheduling program, has greatly reduced the number of
"no-shows" on my schedule. This program allows your clients to schedule themselves
online and also sends them an automatic reminder email at a predetermined time period
prior to their next appointment. In this email I outline my cancellation policy. Having an
email reminder as well as the reminder of what they are required to pay if the
appointment is not kept has decreased my no-shows and late cancellations considerably.
